Our Commitment
IB Tutoring Hub is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every student we work with. As a provider of online tutoring to students who may be under 18, we take safeguarding seriously in how we select tutors, deliver sessions and handle concerns.
Tutor Vetting
Every tutor joining IB Tutoring Hub undergoes:
- A background check
- Direct reference checks from previous employers or institutions
- Verification of IB credentials, including examiner and/or workshop leader status through the IB Educator Network (IBEN)
No tutor delivers sessions until this process is complete.
How Sessions Are Conducted
- All sessions are delivered by video call through our online platform
- Parents and guardians are welcome to observe tutoring sessions where appropriate, particularly for younger learners. As students develop greater independence, the level of parental involvement should support the student's confidence, autonomy, and learning needs.
- Sessions are automatically recorded and securely stored on our platform, and recordings can be reviewed by parents/guardians on request
- Session recordings are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and are not shared outside the family and the assigned tutor without consent
Professional Boundaries
Tutors, students, and families are expected to maintain professional boundaries at all times. Communication relating to tutoring should take place through approved IB Tutoring Hub channels unless otherwise authorised.
Reporting a Concern
If you have any safeguarding concern involving a tutor, a student, or the conduct of a session, please contact us immediately at info@ibtutoringhub.com. All concerns are treated seriously and confidentially, and will be investigated promptly.
Review
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure it reflects best practice in online education safeguarding.
